Hon. Yakubu Mohammed

Hon. Yakubu Mohammed is a Member of Parliament for the Ahafo Ano South-East Constituency and a Board Member of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF). He brings to these roles a rare blend of technical expertise and strategic insight, grounded in his background in Earth Science and extensive experience in marketing, corporate communications, and public relations.

With a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science from the University for Development Studies and an MBA in International Business from Cardiff Metropolitan University, Hon. Yakubu combines scientific knowledge with business acumen to support informed, data-driven decisions that enhance the sustainable management of Ghana’s mineral resources.

At MIIF, he contributes to governance, strategic planning, and stakeholder engagement, ensuring that the Fund’s operations align with its mandate of maximizing the nation’s mineral wealth for long-term national development. His professional experience spans marketing, procurement, and communications roles at the London School of Commerce Group of Institutions, the Ministry of Defence (Ghana), and other international organizations.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Hon. Yakubu is passionate about youth empowerment and education. As Founder of the Abesewa Tertiary Students Association (ATSA), he provides mentorship and free learning opportunities to underprivileged students in his community.
