Edward Apenteng Gyamerah

Edward Apenteng Gyamerah is an accomplished taxation and financial sector leader with over 25 years of experience driving fiscal reforms and modernizing domestic tax administration in Ghana. As Commissioner of the Domestic Tax Revenue Division (DTRD) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), he has spearheaded transformative initiatives to enhance revenue mobilization, improve compliance, and streamline taxpayer services nationwide.

A Chartered Accountant and Tax Practitioner, Mr. Gyamerah is a member of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana, and the Chartered Institute of Taxation. He also holds an Executive MBA from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and is a certified assessor of the World Bank’s Tax Administration Diagnostic Assessment Tool (TADAT).

Throughout his distinguished career, he has led major policy and structural reforms, including the establishment of the Transfer Pricing and International Tax Offices, and the implementation of the Revenue Administration Act, 2016 (Act 915). He played a pivotal role in developing operational manuals, fiscal policies, and tax laws that strengthened Ghana’s tax system.

Mr. Gyamerah is also an adjunct lecturer in taxation and auditing and has represented Ghana internationally on Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) and exchange of information frameworks, contributing significantly to fiscal transparency and sustainable domestic revenue growth.
