Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe

Hon. Robert Wisdom Cudjoe is a seasoned educationist, human resource expert, and dedicated public servant, currently serving as the Member of Parliament for the Prestea Huni Valley Constituency in the Western Region of Ghana. A man of integrity and grassroots experience, Hon. Cudjoe has spent his professional and political life championing education, human capital development, and effective public administration.

Education and Professional Qualifications

Hon. Cudjoe holds a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management and a Bachelor of Education degree in Psychology from the University of Cape Coast (UCC). He is also a certified Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Practitioners, Ghana, a testament to his professional competence in people management and organisational development.

Before venturing fully into politics, Hon. Cudjoe built a solid career in both the education and corporate sectors. From 1999 to 2007, he served as the Head of the Social Science Department at Tarkwa Senior High School, where he shaped the minds of future leaders through his commitment to quality education and academic excellence.

He transitioned into the private sector between 2007 and 2009, taking up the role of Human Resource Manager at Boart Longyear Drilling Services, a Canadian mining services company based in Tarkwa. In this capacity, he played a key role in recruitment, staff development, labour relations, and organisational performance.

Public Service and Political Career

Driven by a passion for community development and good governance, Hon. Cudjoe entered mainstream politics in 2009. He was appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Prestea Huni Valley District by former President John Evans Atta Mills, a position he held with distinction until 2016. As DCE, he led numerous development initiatives in education, health, sanitation, roads, and local governance, significantly improving the lives of his constituents.

Following his impactful tenure at the local government level, he was elected Member of Parliament in the 2020 general elections and began serving in the 8th Parliament of the Fourth Republic in 2021.

Parliamentary Contributions and Committee Work

 In Parliament, Hon. Cudjoe has continued to demonstrate leadership, thoughtfulness, and a deep commitment to national development. He served on a number of parliamentary committees, including: Committee on Employment, Pensions and Labour, Committee on Employment, Social Welfare and State Enterprises, Committee on Sanitation and Water Resources, Committee on Subsidiary Legislation, Committee on Privileges, Public Administration and State Interests Committee and Committee on Economy and Development. Through these roles, he contributes to shaping national policy on employment, labour relations, governance, legislation, economic development, sanitation, and public sector performance.
