Theresa is the Head of Procurement of the Minerals Income Investment Fund (Fund) since October, 2022. She is responsible for undertaking and coordinating all detailed procurement activities within the Fund. Theresa is a member of the Management Team of the Fund.
Theresa is a Chartered Procurement and Supply Chain Professional with over 29 years of corporate experience having worked in various fields including public and international procurement, contract management, strategic sourcing and market analysis, general logistics and support services, facilities management, trade/business facilitation (incl. promotion and contact identification for UK and Ghanaian businesses, trade mission event coordination, preparation of market research document (eg. Overseas Market Introduction (OMIS) reports)), donor fund management, event planning, coordination and management.
Theresa worked at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), a regulator of the downstream petroleum sector in Ghana for nearly 12 years from January, 2011 to September, 2022 where she held various positions including Procurement Manager and Administrative Manager. Her responsibilities included undertaking and coordinating all detailed procurement, estate and logistics, transport and Information Technology (IT) activities of the NPA. Theresa’s commitment to the principles of procurement ensured that the NPA at all times adhered to the procurement laws of Ghana. Prior to joining the NPA, from September, 2007 to December, 2010, she worked at the UK Department for International Development (DFID), British High Commission in Accra, Ghana where she held various positions as a Trade Development Manager and a Trade Development Officer. Her responsibilities included public and international procurement, contract management, strategic sourcing and market analysis, general logistics and support services, facilities management, trade/business facilitation (incl. promotion and contact identification for UK and Ghanaian businesses, trade mission event coordination, and preparation of market research document (e.g. Overseas Market Introduction (OMIS) reports)), donor fund management, event planning, coordination and management.
She joined the Guaranty Trust Bank (Ghana) Limited, Accra, Ghana where from July 2006 to October, 2006, as the Head of Administration with oversight responsibility for the co-ordination and supervision of procurement, general administration and logistics management. Her career at the British High Commission in Accra, Ghana in May, 1992 where she worked until June, 2006 and her responsibilities included administrative duties at the UKTI and DFID Sections and supported the Technical Cooperation Officers (TCOs) with their residence and re-entry permits, travel arrangements (local and international) and accommodation issues.
She is passionate about excellence, professionalism, integrity, honesty and she ensures that laid down procedures are duly followed whilst ensuring that quality of service delivery is not compromised.
Theresa holds an Msc. in Supply Chain Management from Coventry University, UK, an MPA in Public Administration from Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Accra, Ghana and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Greenhill College, GIMPA, Accra, Ghana.
She is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS), UK and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), UK.
